–> Do you have a caring nature and a few hours a week to spare?

Volunteering for Samaritans can change someone's life.

Your own

By volunteering to be a Samaritan, you can help us make a real difference to others.
You will also make a real difference to yourself.
Maybe you feel you won't be up to it.  Relax.  Everyone feels like that at first.
You don't need any formal qualifications or previous experience to be a Samaritan.  You do need to be able to listen and not judge people - by allowing them the time and space to explore and express their feelings.
Are you 18 or over and able to give up 4 hours a week?
Our service is delivered mostly on the telephone but we do see callers face to face in our centre and more and more we are supporting people by email.
It can be a challenging experience, but we will fully prepare you before you become a volunteer.  Your commitment will be recognised and your skills and experience constantly developed.

With Samaritans you grow as a person.  Many of our volunteers say it's the most rewarding thing they've ever done.

Supporting the Cyprus Samaritans

Cyprus Samaritans is run entirely by volunteers and although we have no paid help we do have expenses and bills to pay.
We do not receive any state assistance and funds are raised by the efforts of the volunteers and friends.

Our main source of income is through the operation of our Charity Shops, on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue in Pafos & 13 Georgiou
Griva Digeni St. in Chloraka. The shops are run by volunteers and relies on donations of clothing and household items for sale in the shop.

From time to time we do receive donations from other organizations and occasional sponsorships from business houses.
Additionally we do hold a number of fund raising activities throughout the year such as our Easter and Christmas Fayres.
We are always in need of further help; if you would like to assist us, you can do so.
